16-year-old girl alleges sexual assault by 2 boys at Delta hotel (Video)

A 16-year-old girl in Delta State has alleged that she was lured to a hotel in the Ughelli area, where two teenage boys sexually assaulted her and allegedly mocked her after she told them she was menstruating.

The girl recounted her experience during an interview with the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, following the arrest of one of the suspects, identified as Godstime.

According to the teenager, a friend identified as Nice Money invited her to the hotel, telling her that someone would give her money for transportation.

She alleged that after arriving at the hotel, she met Godstime and another teenager, identified as Goodluck. According to her account, Nice Money told her he would return before leaving the premises.

The girl said an argument subsequently broke out after she informed the two boys that she was menstruating. She alleged that one of them slapped her and ordered her to remove her clothes.

She further alleged that the two boys sexually assaulted her and recorded the incident with their mobile phones.

The teenager said she pleaded with the suspects to delete the recordings but alleged that they demanded further sexual acts before agreeing to remove the footage.

She also alleged that the assaults were repeated before she eventually escaped from the hotel while the suspects were asleep.

The incident attracted public attention after a video allegedly showing the suspects mocking the girl over her menstrual period circulated on social media.

Confirming the development, Edafe said one of the suspects involved in the incident had been arrested.

In an account reported after his arrest, Godstime admitted that he and Goodluck had sexual intercourse with the girl. He also acknowledged that he was the person speaking in the circulated video and said the recording was made after the girl told them she was on her period.

However, Godstime disputed the girl’s account of how many times she was assaulted, claiming that he and Goodluck had sexual intercourse with her twice.

The police spokesperson said the suspect would face prosecution in accordance with the law.

The allegations against the suspects remain subject to investigation and judicial determination. As of the latest reports, one suspect had been arrested while the status of the other alleged participant was not independently confirmed.

The case has renewed attention on the protection of minors from sexual violence and the dangers of recording or sharing material depicting alleged sexual abuse.
