Carloha Nigeria, the official franchise holder, assembler and authorised distributor of Chery vehicles in Nigeria, has announced the nationwide availability of the Chery Q, expanding the automaker’s electric vehicle offering in the Nigerian market.

The Chery Q is positioned as a compact electric vehicle designed to combine intelligent technology, practicality, safety and efficient electric performance, while drawing inspiration from Chery’s long-running QQ family.

Built around Chery’s global “Quest for Joy” philosophy, the vehicle targets young professionals, growing families, first-time electric vehicle buyers and urban motorists seeking a connected and practical mobility option.

The model’s exterior design, which has received the Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award, features geometric styling, rounded LED lighting and a two-tone interior.

Despite its compact dimensions, the Chery Q offers what the company describes as an 85 percent space-efficiency ratio. It measures 4,195mm in length with a 2,700mm wheelbase, while luggage capacity increases from 375 litres to 1,450 litres. It also comes with a 70-litre front trunk and 38 storage compartments.

The Chery Q uses a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive platform with independent suspension and balanced weight distribution.

According to Carloha, the vehicle has an estimated 400-kilometre NEDC driving range, while its fast-charging system can recharge the battery from 30 percent to 80 percent in approximately 16.5 minutes.

The EV also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, enabling users to power compatible electrical devices and outdoor equipment from the vehicle.

Inside, the Chery Q is equipped with a 15.6-inch high-definition touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor. Other technology features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, intelligent voice control, 50W wireless charging, smartphone integration and remote vehicle management through a mobile application.

Carloha said the technologies are designed to provide additional assistance during everyday driving, particularly in traffic, parking situations and other potentially challenging road conditions.

Beyond the vehicle, Carloha is offering its CarlohaCare 6-6-7 ownership support package with every Chery Q.

The package provides a six-year warranty, six years of free scheduled servicing up to 120,000 kilometres, and a seven-day repair promise.

Under the repair promise, Carloha said it will repair the vehicle within seven days or provide a courtesy vehicle if the repair is not completed within the specified period.

The company has also introduced CarlohaCare 6-6-7 Rescue, which includes roadside assistance and a 24-hour assistance line. Limited access to the rescue service is also available to non-Chery owners.

Commenting on the nationwide rollout, Felix Mahan, General Manager, Marketing, Carloha Nigeria, said the arrival of the Chery Q fulfilled the company’s commitment to expanding electric mobility options in Nigeria.

“The arrival of the Chery Q represents the fulfilment of our promise to bring another exciting Chery electric vehicle to Nigeria. We are pleased that the Chery Q is now available nationwide, giving more Nigerians the opportunity to experience intelligent, sustainable and enjoyable electric mobility,” Mahan said.
