The All Progressives Congress (APC) South-West has mobilised more than 1,000 youth leaders, party members and stakeholders for a leadership and engagement summit scheduled to hold in Lagos on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
The summit, organised by the Office of the APC South-West Youth Leader, Daramola Adesuyi, is themed “Strengthening Youth Leadership for Progressive Governance and National Development.”
Participants are expected from the six South-West states of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti.
According to the organisers, the summit will focus on leadership development, political participation, governance, mentorship and the role of young people in strengthening democratic institutions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The organisers said the gathering is intended to provide young APC members with opportunities for capacity building, networking and engagement with established political leaders, while preparing them for greater responsibilities in governance and public service.
Adesuyi said youth participation in politics should extend beyond election campaigns and mobilisation, stressing the need for young people to develop the skills and experience required to contribute meaningfully to policymaking and governance.
He also said the summit would provide a platform for participants to exchange ideas and develop strategies for strengthening youth participation within the party and the wider political space.
Senior political leaders, government officials, party stakeholders and youth leaders from across the South-West are expected to attend the event.
A major highlight of the summit will be the presentation of the Outstanding Youth Empowerment & Mobilisation Award to the City Boy Movement for its contribution to youth mobilisation, grassroots engagement and political participation.
The organisers said the event is expected to go beyond a conventional political gathering by strengthening leadership capacity and coordination among young APC members across the region.
The summit will take place at the LTV Hall in Ikeja, Lagos.
