At least one person have been confirmed dead with many feared trapped after a mosque collapsed at Mushin, Lagos on Sunday, May 26.

Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, permanent secretary of Lagos Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), in a statement said five persons have been rescued so far.

Mr Oke-Osanyintolu said the mosque on Yusuf Street, off Ladipo Road, Papa Ajao, collapsed while prayer was ongoing.

The permanent secretary said that search and rescue operations were taking place under his supervision.
