The contents of the will of late billionaire, elder statesman and former Ohanaeze Ndigbo President-General, Chief (Engr.) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, have been made public—revealing a striking condition: his wife, Lolo Frances Iwuanyanwu, must forfeit all properties left to her if she ever remarries.
According to the will, the document was unveiled by the administrator, Chief Chukwuma Ekomaru (SAN), a year after Iwuanyanwu’s passing. Among the assets bequeathed to Lolo Frances are the family’s iconic Port Harcourt Road residence in Owerri, known as “Legacy House,” and Magil Furniture, a business previously managed by his late first wife, Eudora.
She also received a share of several properties in Orji, Works Layout, and Naze—all in Owerri. However, the will includes a clear clause: should she remarry, all these assets must be relinquished.
The document further details the division of other properties. Her son was given Iwuanyanwu’s official residence in Abuja.
The family’s London home is to be sold, with 60 percent of the proceeds directed toward the education of Iwuanyanwu’s last son. Thirty percent is to go to his first son, Jide, while 10 percent is allocated to Ezinne, who currently lives in the London house, to help her find new accommodation.
Additionally, the will directs that the Glass House near the Orji flyover be placed in a public trust and managed by a board for charitable use. Other properties located in Abuja, Imo, and beyond were equitably distributed among his five children, who reportedly expressed appreciation for the fairness of the arrangements.
