Foundation empowers five Muslims groups with N1m cash grant

In continuation of its resolve to liberate Islamic groups spiritually and financially, the Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation (AIFO) had empowered five Asalatu groups with N200,000 grant each in commemoration of its 16th Ramadan lecture series.

The Foundation on Saturday, March 8,2025 at Tam Royal Multipurpose Hall, Alapere Ketu Lagos venue of the lecture, declared that wealth distribution amidst the faithful will further help to bring about a better society, ensure the fear of God and self development.

The five groups that benefited from the largesse facilitated by Mayor Dele Oshinowo, The Executive Chairman Agboyi Ketu, Lagos and Hon. Dayo Bush, The Lagos State Commissioner for Waterfronts & Infrastructural Development are; Alasalatu Arrifiatu Islamiyyah , Ezobi, Alapere- Ketu, Subula Salam Asalatu Group, Kukoyi off Church Street, Alapere- Ketu.
Others are Wabilliahi Taofeeq Islamic Foundation Asalatu Group,Attoyeeb Asalatu Group, Ifako and Qomarullahi lil munir Asalatu Group which was sponsored by Hon. Samuel Olarenwaju Adebayo, The President of Succour Foundation.

The Chief Missioner, Al-Imam Abdullah glorified God Almighty for the success of the year 2025 Ramadan lecture theme: “Governance and Humanity”, and the sustenance of the Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation thus far.
He emphasized the fact that the foundation is playing a key role in the Islamic ssociety in Ketu Federal constituency.

Adding that the Foundation has remained committed to addressing some of the financial issues of the community and vulnerable ones in order to guide them not to be a beggar.

He charged the participants to remain faithful unto Allah, in the month of Ramadan, which is a month of sober reflection that they all need to remain steadfast in their faith and eschew social vices.

“ If any Muslim want to receive all reward from Allah in this month, let’s foster love, peace and harmony.

“All beneficiaries of cash grants must endeavour to use their funds wisely and judiciously for their goods and benefits.

“As the Concept in Islam is called Zakat, which is usually designed to address the needs of others and to alleviate poverty in Islam society.”

AIFO secretary, Abdulrasak Aderibigbe commended everyone for their presence at the year’s lecture,and recognized the Government and Independent organizations which have been in partnership with the foundation.

Citing various critical programme fashioned out to take good care of the grassroots and the community in the Assalatul groups, in the aspect of Education, building financial empowerment through the medium to enable other members of the Assalatul to have access to the funds and support.

Sheikh Jumah Mobolaji AAhmadthe guest lecturer at the gathering exhorted the people on Governance and Humanity.

He stressed that as God has created mountains for the Land on Earth, so also he has created the governance for humans benefits.

Therefore, he said this cannot be put together on earth except by the good governance among humans.

“Governance brings humanity together, that is within the Rich, Poor, Young and Old to live in peace and harmony. He said.

“The period of Ramadan as a way of life, and the month to learn more about Islam and the great work of Allah. The month is not for Fasting alone.

“I urge every public office holder in the Nigeria governance circle, be it those within the Senate house, House of Assembly and the Judiciary to build an harmonious relationship between all arms of government for the betterment of the nation.

“AIFO is playing a very good role in our society and that is worthy of our unfettered commendation.”

The Grand Patron, Sheikh AbdulRofi Babatunde however, cautioned every Muslim faithful to strictly adhere to the good gospel of the Prophets, in order to ensure their spiritual growth even as they promote charitable deeds which will be counted as an act of Ibadah for them in the month of Ramadan.

Earlier six female faithful who got to the venue of the lecture were presented with cash prizes by one of the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA chairmanship aspirants Hon. Bashiru Elewedu courtesy AIFO in recognition of their punctuality.

Speaking at the Ramadan Lecture, Hon. Bashiru Elewedu said: “There is nothing more beneficial and better to be human priority than to embrace the words and the presence of Allah.

And this is the reason why the participants punctuality was crowned with Cash prizes in leading by example.

Others in attendance, were the DPO Alapere Police station Agboyi Ketu Local Government, CSP Philip Idogbo represented by Supo Ibrahim, Alhaji Sharafa, Alhaji Opaleye, and Engr. Olanrewaju.
