UK-based Nigerian pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, has revealed that he has been quietly battling cancer, marking a rare moment of vulnerability from the outspoken religious leader.
The founder of the now-defunct SPAC Nation, recently renamed The Nxtion Family, shared the news in a recorded message to his congregation. He explained that he had undergone major s¥tgery and is currently in recovery. “I’ve been living with cancer for months,” he said.
“The s¥rgery was intense, but I believe God has granted me a second chance—for something greater.”
In a move that surprised many, Adegboyega also announced a personal donation of £100,000 towards cancer awareness and treatment, with a focus on helping young people affected by the illness.
Known for blending faith with flash, Adegboyega made headlines in the past for his designer fashion, luxury lifestyle, and celebrity ties.
While some praised his appeal to youth and his unconventional style, others were critical of his methods. In 2022, his ministry came under fire after a UK court found serious financial irregularities.
The government dissolved SPAC Nation following accusations that over £1.8 million in expenses were unaccounted for. Now, in the wake of his health battle, Adegboyega is refocusing public attention on something far more personal—and potentially redemptive. “I’m here for what’s next,” he said. “And I intend to make it count.”
