The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that he will not allow himself to be politically buried ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike said repeating past mistakes linked to the Rivers State governorship would amount to political suicide, stressing that he would not make such an error again.
He made the remarks on Saturday while addressing residents of Okrika during his thank-you visit to local government areas in Rivers State.
Reiterating his long-held position on political agreements, Wike insisted that “agreement is agreement” with respect to the governorship arrangement in the state.
“We have taken a decision that there is no going back as far as Tinubu is concerned, but the other one, no way,” he said. “If we make another mistake, they will go and bury themselves politically. I will not allow myself to be buried. I will not allow that mistake again.”
The minister further described his political camp as the “Renewed Hope family,” warning that those who were not genuine members should be prepared for a political contest.
“I want to assure you that it’s a Renewed Hope family, and if you are not a member, we will face you in the field. If you are not an original member, not a fake one, we will face you in the battle,” Wike said.
He added that his political opponents had not yet seen the full extent of his resolve, insisting that his camp would do “what we know how to do” as events unfold.
