137 kidnapped Kaduna school children freed after 17 days in captivity

The 137 pupils abducted by unknown gunmen at a public school in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State have been released.

Recall that terrorists abducted the children & the school’s principal on Thursday, March 7 at a joint premises of a primary and secondary school in Kuriga community during the students’ morning assembly.

After about 17 days in kidnappers’ den, the school children have regained their freedom, as announced by one of President Bola Tinubu’s spokespersons, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, in a Facebook post on Sunday, March 24.

“To God be the glory, all the 137 abducted school children in the Kuriga community have been rescued”, Mr Abdulaziz said in a brief statement he posted on his Facebook page in Hausa language.

Earlier, the school authority gave the number of abducted children as 287. It was not immediately clear whether the school authority was uncertain about the number of the abducted students or others are still in captivity.
