Popular Nollywood actress Sharon Ooja has announced the birth of her first child, a baby boy, with her husband, Ugo Nwoke.
The actress shared the joyful news in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, revealing that she had privately navigated her pregnancy journey away from social media.
The announcement quickly drew widespread reactions across Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with fans, colleagues, and celebrities flooding her comment section with congratulatory messages.
The 35-year-old actress, known for her roles in Skinny Girl in Transit and Flawsome, described the birth of her son as one of the happiest moments of her life.
“I’m still so overwhelmed with joy and gratitude,” Ooja wrote. “God truly ushered me into the most beautiful years of my life and wrote a story that only He can take the glory for.”
She added that pregnancy deepened her understanding of unconditional love and strengthened her spiritual journey.
Referencing biblical passages from Genesis and Psalms, the actress said the experience fulfilled what she described as “the year God made me laugh.”
Ooja also paid an emotional tribute to her husband, thanking him for supporting her throughout the pregnancy.

According to the actress, Nwoke stood by her emotionally, spiritually, and physically during the nine-month journey through prayers, reassurance, care, and constant support.
“Thank you for loving me so fiercely through every stage of our pregnancy,” she wrote. “The prayers, reassurance, back rubs, food runs, and the way you carried me emotionally and spiritually these past nine months — you are truly everything.”
The actress explained that she intentionally chose to keep her pregnancy private in order to enjoy a peaceful and less pressured experience away from public attention.
She admitted that the early stages of pregnancy were challenging but said staying offline allowed her to fully embrace motherhood in a calm and personal way.
Ooja concluded the announcement by revealing her son’s initials, “W.I.N,” while excitedly embracing her new identity as a mother.
“Our lives have changed forever,” she said. “I’ve always dreamed of being a mummy, and now I finally am.”
The actress also offered prayers and encouragement to women and families hoping to have children, expressing hope that they too would experience similar joy and fulfillment.
