MultiChoice Nigeria has announced that the 11th season of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) will premiere on Sunday, July 26, 2026, with a record-breaking grand prize of ₦160 million, the highest in the history of the reality television show.
The organisers unveiled details of the new season during a media briefing on Wednesday, revealing that viewers can watch the launch show from 7 p.m. on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family. The 24-hour live broadcast will be available on DStv Channel 198 and GOtv Channel 49, while subscribers can also stream the show via the DStv Stream and GOtv Stream platforms.
According to MultiChoice, this season’s winner will receive a prize package worth ₦160 million, including ₦100 million in cash and a brand-new sport utility vehicle (SUV), surpassing the ₦150 million prize awarded in the previous edition.
Speaking at the unveiling, Executive Head of Content and Channels, West Africa, MultiChoice, Atinuke Babatunde, said the new season is designed to build on the show’s legacy with higher stakes, fresh twists and a new crop of housemates expected to captivate audiences across Africa.
“Big Brother Naija has consistently redefined entertainment in Africa by bringing together authentic storytelling, compelling personalities and moments that resonate with millions of viewers. Season 11 builds on that legacy with even bigger stakes, fresh twists and an exciting mix of housemates,” she said.
The organisers also announced betPawa as the headline sponsor for Season 11, with Guinness returning as the gold sponsor and Minimie joining as an associate sponsor. They said the partnerships reflect the continued commercial appeal and cultural influence of the reality show.
Veteran media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will return as host, continuing a role he has held since the show’s revival in 2017. Contestants will compete through weekly tasks, nominations and public voting as they battle for the grand prize over the course of the season. Eligible DStv and GOtv subscribers will be able to vote through the MyDStv and MyGOtv self-service applications.
Since its relaunch in 2017, Big Brother Naija has become one of Africa’s most-watched reality television programmes, producing several entertainment personalities and influencing popular culture across the continent. Season 11 is expected to continue that tradition when it debuts later this month.
