Court convicts 18 for indiscriminate waste disposal

An Ikoyi Magistrate Court in Lagos State has imposed a fine of ₦30,000 on 18 persons for engaging in indiscriminate waste disposal.

The court also gave each of them an option of six hours of community service.

This was revealed in photos shared on X by the Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Wednesday.

His caption read “An Ikoyi Magistrate’s Court, Tuesday, imposed a fine of ₦30,000 each with an option of six hours of community service, on 18 persons, for engaging in reckless waste disposal.”
