Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sambo, who served as Vice President from May 2010 to May 2015 under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, was also the Governor of Kaduna State from 2007 to 2010.
His defection was confirmed after he was seen in a photo with the current Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, marking his formal alignment with the APC. Sambo’s move makes him one of the most prominent political figures to leave the PDP for the APC as political alignments intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
