Former Ooni of Ife’s wife, Zaynab Ngohemba, has spoken about her marriage to Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, describing it as a partnership grounded in maturity, stability and shared commitment to service.
In a statement released by her media aide, and published by ThisDay, Zaynab explained that the marriage is not a change in direction but a continuation of two lives already dedicated to public service. She said the relationship is strengthened by humility, discipline, empathy and responsibility, adding that personal stability enhances commitment to leadership.
Adeoye noted that at a time when Nigerians are increasingly calling for sincerity, compassion and integrity from leaders, the couple reflects those values. He stated that their union promotes leadership that balances empathy with authority and treats service as a calling rather than a platform.
Zaynab was married to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, in March 2016 before the marriage ended in 2017 after 17 months.
