Actor Todd Bridges has announced his separation from his wife, Bettijo B. Hirschi, after three years of marriage, asking for privacy as they move forward.
The 60-year-old Diff’rent Strokes star confirmed the split in a statement released through his representative on January 15. TMZ first reported the development. Bridges and Hirschi met and married in 2022.
“After much prayer and reflection, my spouse and I have made the difficult decision to separate,” Bridges said. “This was not an easy choice, and it comes with a heavy heart, but also with love and gratitude for the life we shared.”
He added that he remains thankful for their time together, describing it as a period filled with lessons and growth. “I thank God for the time we’ve had together, the lessons we’ve learned, and the family we’ve built,” he said, expressing hope for healing and peace for both parties.
Bridges concluded by requesting privacy during the transition and said he continues to keep his former partner in his prayers, wishing her happiness in the future.
The actor previously revealed during a 2024 appearance on The Tamron Hall Show that he met Hirschi, a designer, after a friend introduced him to her online dating profile. The couple got engaged six months later and tied the knot in September 2022.
This marks Bridges’ second marriage. He was previously married to Dori Smith Bridges from 1998 to 2012, with whom he shares a son. He also has a daughter from an earlier relationship.
