The Lagos State Police Command has exhumed the body of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, for an autopsy to aid investigation into the cause of his death.
Mohbad, 27, died on September 12, 2023, and was buried on September 16, 2023. However, the cause of his death has been a subject of controversy since the tragic incident.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the exhumation of Mohbad’s body, said that it was necessary to do so in order to get a clear picture of what led to his death.
“The exhumation of Mohbad’s body was carried out today, September 21, 2023, in the presence of his family members and other relevant stakeholders,” Hundeyin said. “The autopsy will be conducted by a team of forensic experts and the results will be made public as soon as they are available.”

The police spokesperson also urged the public to be patient and allow the investigation to take its course.
“We understand that the public is eager to know what happened to Mohbad, but we urge them to be patient and allow the investigation to take its course,” Hundeyin said. “We are committed to getting to the bottom of this matter and bringing whoever is responsible to justice.”
The exhumation of Mohbad’s body is a significant development in the investigation into his death. The results of the autopsy are expected to shed more light on the cause of his death and help the police to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
