The Deputy Director, Department of Special Duties at the National Emergency Management Agency, Sanusi Ado, died on Sunday night in Kaduna after a brief illness.
This was disclosed in a statement posted on the official X handle of NEMA on Monday, October 23.
The statement read, “National Emergency Management Agency was thrown into mourning following the death of a Deputy Director, Mallam Sanusi Ado. He died Sunday night in Kaduna after a brief illness.
“The late Sanusi Ado was a Deputy Director in the Department of Special Duties. He has also served in various other departments and capacities as Deputy Director, Relief and Rehabilitation; Deputy Director, Human Resources Management, and Head of NEMA Kano Territorial Office.

“The news of Mallam Sanusi’s death jolted many staff as they expressed their grief and prayed for the repose of his soul.”
The statement further added that the NEMA Director General, Mustapha Ahmed, described the untimely death of the Deputy Director as shocking.
Ahmed, on behalf of the management and staff of the agency, commiserated with the family of the deceased over the sad loss. He also prayed for the repose of the late Sanusi’s soul in eternal rest.
The remains of late Sanusi Ado were laid to rest in Kaduna today Monday 23rd October, 2023 after funeral prayers according to Islamic injunction.
