  • Outgoing Generals urged serving military personnel to remain loyal to the country

Nigerian Army officers and other military personnel have been advised to remain faithful and loyal to the federal government and be more committed in fighting the current insecurity across the country which is the major goal of joining the military world over.

The official advice came during the weekend from Major General Omotomilola Akintade who was the reviewing officer of the colourful parade conducted at the parade ground of the headquarters Nigerian Army Ordinance corps Abalti Barracks Surulere Lagos during the weekend.

General Akintade spoke at the podium on behalf of the other four retired Generals at the colourful ceremony attended by other sister military formations including the Navy and Air Force. He used the opportunity to reflect back thirty four years ago when him and his colleague came to resume at Ordinance corps and shared brief experience.

One of those experiences was the structure of the buildings which were colonial in nature but within this past all the buildings have become magnificent to match with the current global buildings and make it more conducive for officers and men. He commended all past commanders for making the military formation so magnificent and commend them for supporting the nation during and after their humble service to their father land . He also thanked the present Commander Nigerian Army Ordinance Corps Major General J O Ugwuoke for organizing the pull out ceremony for them and also giving him the opportunity to review the parade.

The five retired Generals and the present Commander also appreciate the effort of the Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen TA Lagbaja for his unflinching support and vision to the Nigerian Army. The five retired Army Generals in separate interviews with our correspondent describes the occasion as unique, wonderful and a day to always remember in their life.

They went further to thank their wives for the support given them during their years in the service. The Army Generals further stated that it was dedication, determination and grace of God to help them to succeed after serving for thirty five years and now retired successfully.

They also thank all officers and men for their sacrifices and prayers throughout this past The retired Generals includes Major General Omotomilola Akintade, Major General Ayobami Samuel Ibikunle, Major General Martins Enendu, Major General Adeyemi Moruf Alabi and Major General Patrick Ikechukwu Eze.
