…harps on Islamic virtues at son’s Walimatu ceremony

Well-meaning Nigerians have been urged to use the rich virtues stored up in the Islamic dictates, to nurture future leaders that will help evolve the much desired new nation.

Hon. Abdulwahid Odunuga made this call recently at a two pronged ceremony-Walimatul Qur’an of his son and Odunuga’s turbanning with which he was conferred the Islamic title of Otun Akeweje Adini in Lagos, at the event, held in the Comprehensive High School, Ajibola Crescent premises, Alapere-Ketu.

The proud father made the appeal in his address, wherein he tasked parents to invest more in the spiritual upliftment of their wards, while adding that it helps to guarantee a good future.

In what appears a significant spiritual milestone his son Abdul Ganiy Hassan Odunuga successfully completed the study of Qur’an and the father got recognized as the ‘Otun Akeweje Adini’.

Odunuga said, “This day is deeply fulfilling for me and a solemn reminder of my responsibility to serve the community.

“I want to encourage parents to continue investing in Islamic education and moral guidance for their children because it end up quite well.

“It helps to guarantee a positive future, as the children garner required knowledge about Allah, I am grateful to him for making this day a reality.”

Expressing his profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for the dual blessings.

In an applause filled atmosphere guests were filled with testament to the family’s strong moral upbringing and commitment to Islamic values.

The ceremony conducted under the auspices of Ar-Rifatul Islamiyyah Arabic and Islamic Academy, Alapere-Ketu, and hosted by Ash-Shaykh Abdurrofii Babatunde Muh’d Awwal Sibgatullah (Sultānul-‘Ulamā’i), the Founder and Director of the academy, mirrors the rich moral values imparted into the Islamic students.

Reflecting on his son’s achievement, the new Otun Akeweje Adini prayed that Abdul Ganiy Hassan Odunuga would grow in knowledge, good character, and obedience to Allah, becoming a positive influence and a source of pride to Islam.

He pledged to remain steadfast in his commitment to Allah’s path and to sustain the values and service that earned him the honour.

He promised to stand firmly with the youthful members of the association, offering guidance, mentorship, and moral support.

He emphasized that his service would not be limited to the youth alone but would extend to the entire association and the wider community in whatever capacity Allah enables him.

He expressed heartfelt appreciation to Alhaji Abdul-Lateef Awojobi, Ojagbade I, Loja of Lukosi Land, Ife, Osun State; Mayor Dele Oshinowo; Mr. Lekan Mutiu, MD, Braterek Nig. Ltd; Mrs. Zeinab Ramos; Barr. Sharaphardeen Idowu.

The ceremony featured soulful Qur’anic recitations, special prayers, and Islamic exhortations from various scholars.

The atmosphere remained spiritually uplifting throughout, highlighting the importance of moral uprightness and selfless service to humanity.
