A seminarian, Naam Stephen Ngofe Danlami, has been killed in an attack by bandits at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Fadan Kamantan, Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State.

It was gathered that the bandits stormed the parish house at about 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, and set it ablaze alongside a vehicle.

The deceased seminarian died from the smoke he inhaled while trying to escape from the grasp of the attackers.

The Acting Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, ASP Mansir Alhassan, confirmed the incident in a statement.

The Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Very Rev Fr Emmanuel Okolo, and his assistant escaped during the attack.

While confirming the incident, the Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), said the seminarian was about completing his training into the Catholic priesthood.
