Police operatives in Niger State have arrested a 19-year-old boy, Yakubu Tanko for allegedly killing his friend and dumping the body in a septic tank

It was gathered that the suspect entered into 14-year-old Sikiru Tajudeen’s room in the Tundun Fulani area of Minna and hit him with a stick he took from the kitchen

The suspect reportedly told the police that the victim gave him a phone to charge for him and that he conceived the idea of killing him to take the phone

Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun in a statement said the decreased was reported missing on March 20. He was said to had gone missing the previous day while his school uniform trouser, a stick & a stone were found with suspected blood stains in his room

“Later around 1830hrs of 20/03/2024 information received from the community indicated that a strange odour was being perceived from a septic tank within the community and after a proper check with the Police, a tied sack was found in the tank, evacuated & discovered the lifeless body of Sikiru Tajudeen
