2 fake policemen arrested with AK-47 rifles in Ikeja

Two men were arrested in Ikeja, Lagos State, on Friday for posing as policemen and carrying AK-47 rifles.

The men, identified as Emeka Eze and Kingsley Eze, were arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT).

The suspects were arrested following a tip-off from a member of the public. The informant told the police that the suspects were posing as policemen and terrorizing residents of Ikeja.

The police team acted on the tip-off and arrested the suspects at their hideout in Ikeja. The suspects were found in possession of a AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and 30 rounds of live ammunition.

The suspects confessed to posing as policemen in order to extort money from motorists and other citizens. They said they had been in the business for several months and had made a lot of money from it.

The suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation. They will be charged to court soon.

The police are also urging members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police. The police are working hard to make Lagos State safe for everyone.
