A lawmaker has endorsed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the most experienced candidate to lead Ogun State ahead of the 2027 governorship election, expressing confidence that the senator possesses the leadership qualities and public service experience needed to govern the state.
The endorsement comes amid growing political discussions and early alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political stakeholders beginning to position themselves for key elective offices across the country.
Speaking in support of Senator Adeola’s governorship aspiration, the lawmaker described the senator as a seasoned public servant with an extensive record in legislative governance and public administration.
“I am convinced that when the good people of Ogun State go to the polls in 2027, they will choose competence, experience, and proven leadership,” the lawmaker said.
According to the legislator, Senator Adeola’s years of service at both the state and national levels have equipped him with the experience required to address the developmental challenges facing Ogun State.
The lawmaker noted that Adeola’s contributions in the National Assembly, particularly in budgetary oversight, constituency development, and legislative engagements, have demonstrated his capacity to deliver impactful governance.
He further argued that Ogun State requires a leader with a clear understanding of public finance, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and economic growth, adding that Senator Adeola possesses the vision and administrative experience to drive sustainable development.
The endorsement also highlighted the senator’s relationship with constituents and his track record of executing empowerment and community development initiatives across different parts of the state.
While acknowledging that the governorship contest remains some time away, the lawmaker urged residents to carefully assess the credentials, competence, and leadership records of prospective candidates before making their choice at the ballot box.
Political observers note that endorsements by party stakeholders and elected officials are expected to increase as preparations for the 2027 elections gradually gather momentum.
Although the race for the Ogun State governorship is still in its early stages, political consultations and expressions of support from influential figures continue to shape discussions within the state’s political landscape.
Senator Adeola, who currently represents Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has long been regarded as one of the prominent political figures in the state, with his name frequently mentioned in conversations surrounding the 2027 governorship election.
The eventual candidates for the election will emerge through their respective political parties’ primary processes before the governorship poll scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
