Senator Ned Nwoko has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of reneging on what he described as an earlier assurance of an automatic ticket prior to his defection to the party, alleging that internal decisions later overturned the understanding.
Nwoko, in remarks circulating on Monday, claimed he was promised a direct return ticket before he joined the ruling party but said the agreement was not honoured after he officially defected.
“I was promised automatic ticket before I joined APC but they betrayed me,” he said, adding that subsequent party arrangements appeared to contradict the earlier assurance.
The senator’s comments add to ongoing tensions within the APC over internal ticket allocation, zoning arrangements, and candidate selection processes ahead of future election cycles.
Party leadership has not officially responded to the allegation at the time of filing this report.
The development reflects recurring disputes within major political parties in Nigeria, where aspirants often raise concerns over transparency, internal agreements, and the conduct of primaries.
