Britain’s Prince William has revealed that his father, King Charles III, is not a fan of football, making the lighthearted remark during a surprise appearance on the popular New Heights podcast hosted by NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce.
The Prince of Wales, a lifelong supporter of Premier League club Aston Villa and patron of the English Football Association (FA), made the comment while discussing how his passion for football developed.
“My father hates football,” William joked when asked about his love for the sport, explaining that his enthusiasm did not come from his family but from friends who introduced him to the game during his school years.
William said football became an integral part of his childhood because it was a constant topic of conversation among his classmates.
“My football love came from friends taking me to my first match, and at school growing up you couldn’t avoid the football chat, it was everywhere,” he said.
