Nigerian Power Slap heavyweight Kabiru Adediran, popularly known as “Hulk,” has publicly challenged former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, insisting that his call-out is genuine and not a publicity stunt.
Adediran made the declaration while addressing growing reactions to his challenge, maintaining that he is serious about testing himself against one of Britain’s most accomplished heavyweight boxers.
The Nigerian athlete said his admiration for Joshua has not stopped him from expressing his desire to compete against the two-time unified heavyweight champion. According to him, the challenge is driven by ambition and confidence rather than a quest for media attention.
“I am not chasing clout,” Adediran said, stressing that he believes he has what it takes to share the spotlight with some of the biggest names in combat sports.
Adediran has gained recognition in the Power Slap competition for his physical strength and knockout ability, earning the nickname “Hulk” through a series of impressive performances. His growing profile has made him one of Nigeria’s most notable representatives in the emerging combat sport.
Although Joshua is renowned for his achievements in professional boxing, Adediran suggested that his challenge reflects his determination to compete at the highest level and showcase Nigerian talent on the global stage.

The call-out has generated widespread discussion among combat sports fans, with some viewing it as a bold statement of confidence while others question the practicality of a contest between athletes from different disciplines.
Joshua, a former unified WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion, remains one of boxing’s biggest global stars. The British-Nigerian fighter has built an illustrious career, defeating several elite opponents and headlining major boxing events around the world.
There has been no public response from Joshua or his management team regarding Adediran’s challenge.
Cross-discipline challenges have become increasingly common in combat sports in recent years, often attracting significant public interest and commercial attention. However, no discussions or arrangements have been announced regarding a potential meeting between Joshua and Adediran.
For now, Adediran has reaffirmed that his challenge is sincere, expressing hope that his message will reach Joshua and spark interest in what he believes would be a landmark contest involving two athletes of Nigerian heritage.
