A Lagos-based entrepreneur, Adekoya Ibukunoluwa, has instituted legal proceedings against Sandra Edoho, the estranged wife of veteran broadcaster Frank Edoho, seeking ₦100 million in damages over alleged defamatory social media posts linking her to an extramarital affair with the television personality.
According to a memorandum of claim dated July 17, 2026, Adekoya, through her counsel, Festus Ogun of FOLEGAL, alleged that Sandra published false and malicious statements about her on Instagram, accusing her of having an affair with Frank Edoho during his marriage. She contends that the publications damaged her reputation and exposed her to public ridicule, cyberbullying and harassment.
The claimant is asking the court to declare the posts defamatory and order Sandra to pay ₦100 million in damages. She is also seeking an injunction restraining Sandra from making further similar publications, as well as a public retraction and apology.
According to the court documents, the dispute traces back to November 2023, when Adekoya allegedly met Frank Edoho after the two first encountered each other at a café in Lagos and exchanged contacts over their shared interest in football.
The suit further alleges that Sandra impersonated Frank Edoho on WhatsApp and invited Adekoya to the couple’s residence in Victoria Garden City, Lagos, under the pretext of offering her ₦10 million. Adekoya claims she was subsequently taken to the residence and confined in a room before Frank Edoho, who was reportedly unaware of the arrangement, expressed surprise over the allegation of an affair and apologised to her. These claims have been made by the claimant and have not been independently verified in court.
The legal action follows the highly publicised breakdown of Frank and Sandra Edoho’s marriage. Earlier this year, Sandra publicly accused the broadcaster of infidelity, abuse and financial misconduct during their marriage, allegations which Frank Edoho has denied. He has described the claims as false and said he would challenge them through legal channels rather than in the media.
Adekoya’s lawyers argue that Sandra’s Instagram posts falsely portrayed their client as a “prostitute” and one of several women allegedly involved with Frank Edoho, causing serious reputational harm after the content was widely circulated on blogs and social media platforms.
As part of the reliefs sought, Adekoya is requesting that Sandra remove the disputed posts, publish an unreserved apology and refrain from making similar statements in the future. The claimant’s legal team also proposed an out-of-court settlement but warned that failure to respond within the stipulated period would result in further legal action.
As of the time of reporting, Sandra Edoho had not publicly responded to the lawsuit or the allegations contained in the court filings.
