Appeal Court sacks Abure, reaffirms Apapa as LP’s national chairman

The Court of Appeal in Imo State has sacked Julius Abure and reaffirmed Lamido Apapa as the national chairman of the Labour Party.

The court, in its ruling on Thursday, August 24, also directed the electoral commission, INEC, to recognise and publish the names of all governorship candidates presented by the Apapa-led National Working Committee (NWC) in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi states.

DailyPost reports that the court also dismissed Senator Athan Achonu, the governorship candidate of Imo State and others from the Abure-led faction of the Labour Party.

It would be recalled that the Court of Appeal in Benin, Edo State, had on August 14 affirmed Abure as the chairman of LP.
