Arrested suspect denied killing girlfriend

A 400-level student in the Department of Petrochemical Engineering of the University of Port Harcourt, Demian Okoligwe, has been paraded by the Rivers State Police command for allegedly killing and dismembering the body of his girlfriend, Justina Otuene.

The DPO of the station led detectives to the scene and, on arrival, forced the door open to discover a ghana-must-go bag containing a lifeless body.

A preliminary investigation is in progress. The case has been transferred to the state CID for discreet investigation,” he said.

However, Damian during interrogation, denied killing his girlfriend claiming he came home to her dismembered body.

Upon questioning by the Police on why he didn’t report the murder, he claimed he was sick and had gone to a pharmacy to receive treatment. Even though Damian stays alone, he insists he didn’t have a hand in her death.
