Breaking: Police conclude Mohbad’s autopsy, await results

The Lagos State Police Command has concluded the autopsy on the body of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

The police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the development to journalists on Thursday, said that the results of the autopsy are expected to be released soon.

“The autopsy on Mohbad’s body has been concluded,” Hundeyin said. “We are awaiting the results and we will make them public as soon as they are available.”

Hundeyin also urged the public to be patient and allow the investigation into Mohbad’s death to take its course.

“We understand that the public is eager to know what happened to Mohbad, but we urge them to be patient and allow the investigation to take its course,” he said. “We are committed to getting to the bottom of this matter and bringing whoever is responsible to justice.”

Mohbad, 27, died on September 12, 2023, and was buried on September 13, 2023. However, the cause of his death has been a subject of controversy since the tragic incident.

Controversies have surrounded his demise after an allegation and several videos surface that his former record label had a hand in his death due to constant harassment by Samson Erinfolami Balogun, populaly known as Sam Larry.

There had been also a reports that Mohbad was assaulted by some operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) sponsored by Naira Marley before his death, but the NDLEA denied the allegation.

The police have since arrested the nurse who reportedly administered an injection on Mohbad prior to his death.

The outcome of the autopsy is expected to provide more clarity on the cause of Mohbad’s death and help the police to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
