FCT Minister’s daughter Jazmyne Wike earns UK Law Degree

Jazmyne Wike, daughter of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.

Jazmyne earned an LL.B. (Hons) with Upper Second-Class Honours, marking a significant academic milestone for the Wike family. The graduation ceremony took place at the University of Southampton, one of the United Kingdom’s leading institutions for legal education.

The achievement was made public on Wednesday through photographs shared by the FCT Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, showing Wike, his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Wike, and other family members at the graduation ceremony.

Several prominent political figures were also in attendance to celebrate the occasion. Among them were Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees Chairman Mao Ohuabunwa, PDP Deputy National Chairman (South) Aaron Chukwuemeka, Rivers APC governorship candidate Kingsley Chinda, Executive Director of Projects at the South South Development Commission Marcus Nle Ejii, and House of Representatives member Victor Obuzor.

The graduation has attracted congratulatory messages from political associates, friends and well-wishers, many of whom praised Jazmyne’s dedication and academic accomplishment.

The University of Southampton is recognised as one of the UK’s leading law schools, with its undergraduate law programme accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board in England and Wales.

The latest achievement adds to a series of academic milestones within the Wike family. Earlier this year, another of the minister’s children, Joaquin Wike, completed a postgraduate degree in the United Kingdom.

While the occasion was primarily a family celebration, it also drew public attention because of the attendance of several high-profile political figures, reflecting Wike’s influence across Nigeria’s political landscape.
