The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system allowing candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from home without visiting a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre.
The initiative, announced by JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, on Monday, is initially linked to results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). JAMB said it will verify candidates’ results directly with the relevant examination bodies.
According to the board, the new process is intended to make O’Level result submission faster and more convenient while reducing errors associated with manual uploads at CBT centres.
JAMB said the system would also help address problems such as misplaced or mixed-up result documents, submission of fraudulent or unverified results and mistakes in manually entering subjects and grades.
Candidates can follow these steps:
Visit the O’Level result verification platform and enter your National Identification Number (NIN), then click “Verify NIN.”
Select the number of examination sittings and the relevant examination body or bodies, then click “Continue.”
Enter your email address and GSM number and click “Pay Now.”
Complete the payment using a debit card or bank transfer.
After payment, provide your examination details, including your examination number, examination series and examination year.
Verify the result or results for the number of sittings selected and obtain your Verification Code.
Send “VERIFY” followed by your Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. JAMB said the result will then be uploaded and the candidate will receive a notification.
Candidates with two sittings will need to log in to their JAMB e-Facility profile after receiving the notification.
They should select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload”, enter their Verification Code and wait for their two verified results to be displayed.
Candidates are required to select between five and nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once. They should then click “Apply the O’Level Results” to complete the submission and receive confirmation.
JAMB’s official FAQ also states that candidates who registered with awaiting results must upload those results to the JAMB portal once they become available, as candidates may not be considered for admission without the required result upload.
The board said the home-based system is expected to reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and delays, particularly during periods of heavy demand and network congestion.
JAMB has advised candidates to keep their personal security information confidential. Its official guidance warns candidates not to disclose sensitive details such as passwords and e-PINs to registration centres or other individuals.
The new arrangement forms part of JAMB’s broader effort to use technology to simplify its services and make the admission process more accessible to candidates.
