The worship leader, long coy about his personal life, has finally stepped out of the shadows with his spouse, sparking an outpouring of congratulations from fans and the Nigerian Christian community.
Nigerian gospel music minister and worship leader Bakare Boluwatife Oluwatobi, widely known as Minister BBO, has confirmed his marriage and publicly introduced his wife, ending months of speculation that had gripped his devoted fanbase.
BBO, a renowned gospel artist, songwriter, and worship leader, had sparked widespread rumours about his marital status in March 2026 following a social media post in which sharp-eyed fans noticed a ring on his finger. The development sent ripples through Nigeria’s gospel music community, with many admirers congratulating him while others sought official confirmation.
The speculation had been building since late 2025, when BBO attended the Young Ministers Retreat led by Pastor Daniel Olawande and publicly nodded in affirmation that he was in a relationship, after a cleric prophesied he would attend the following year’s event with his wife.
According to his official biography, BBO is now happily married, having wed in a private ceremony in January 2026. The identity of his wife has not been widely publicised, consistent with BBO’s characteristically private approach to his personal life.
Pastor Bolaji Idowu added credibility to the reports when he publicly stated that he had met BBO and his wife, a disclosure that significantly influenced the conversation around the minister’s marital status.
BBO, who hails from Ijebu, Ogun State, and currently resides in Ibadan, rose to prominence after ministering the viral worship song “You Are the Most High” during an Instagram Live session hosted by Prophet Woli Arole. He is best known for gospel hits including My God and Iranlowo.
The news has been met with widespread celebration across Nigerian Christian social media, with fans and fellow ministers extending congratulations and blessings to the couple.
