The suspects were apprehended following a coordinated intelligence-led operation by officers of the command, according to police authorities. The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to tackle armed robbery and other violent crimes across Adamawa State.

Police spokespersons said the suspects are believed to be members of a robbery syndicate that has been linked to a series of theft and armed robbery incidents within Yola and surrounding communities. During the arrest, security operatives recovered a number of items suspected to have been stolen from victims during previous attacks.

The recovered exhibits reportedly include household valuables and other personal belongings believed to have been forcefully taken from residents during robbery operations. Authorities noted that investigations are ongoing to identify the rightful owners of the recovered items and establish the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in criminal activities.

According to the police, one member of the gang managed to escape during the operation and is currently being sought by law enforcement agencies. Efforts have been intensified to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspect as investigations continue.

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and maintaining law and order across the state. He commended the officers involved in the operation and urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information that could aid crime prevention and detection.

Some community leaders also called for continued collaboration between citizens and law enforcement agencies to strengthen public safety.

The Adamawa State Police Command further encouraged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station. Authorities stressed that public cooperation is essential in achieving lasting peace and security.
