Real Madrid maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 La Liga season with a commanding 4-0 victory over newly promoted Málaga at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday.
Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé were among the goals as Real Madrid scored three times in the opening 30 minutes before Arda Güler completed the rout in stoppage time.
Bellingham opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a superb solo effort, powering into the Málaga area before firing past goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero.
Madrid doubled their advantage seven minutes later when Herrero turned the ball into his own net following a scramble in the Málaga box.
Mbappé then made it 3-0 in the 30th minute, finishing a move with a right-footed shot after receiving a cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Málaga struggled to contain the hosts as Real Madrid continued to create chances, although Bellingham came close to adding a second when his effort struck the post early in the second half.
Güler sealed the victory in the first minute of added time, converting from close range after a fast break involving Vinícius Júnior.
The result gives Real Madrid nine points from three matches, maintaining their 100 per cent start and putting them two points clear at the top of the league standings. Atlético Madrid and Alavés are their closest challengers on seven points.
The victory also extends Madrid’s impressive early-season form under manager José Mourinho, who made five changes to his starting XI for the match.
Real Madrid will next face Real Betis in La Liga before beginning their Champions League campaign against Inter Milan.
Málaga, meanwhile, will look to recover from the heavy defeat when they host Levante in their next league fixture.
