Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) has launched a global wellness campaign to commemorate its 25th anniversary, urging professional women to prioritise their health and well-being alongside career and business ambitions.
The initiative, tagged “WIMBIZ Fit@25,” forms part of the organisation’s silver jubilee celebrations and is designed to encourage women to adopt healthier lifestyles through physical fitness, preventive healthcare and improved work-life balance. The campaign featured a global aerobics session, bringing together participants from cities including Lagos, London and Atlanta, as well as other locations around the world.
In a statement, WIMBIZ said the campaign reflects its belief that healthy leaders are better equipped to build thriving families, businesses and communities.
The organisation noted that while women continue to make significant strides in leadership, entrepreneurship and public service, many often neglect their physical and mental well-being because of demanding professional and personal responsibilities.
According to WIMBIZ, sustainable success requires intentional investment in health, stressing that wellness should not be treated as an afterthought but as a critical component of effective leadership.
The organisation encouraged women to embrace regular exercise, preventive health checks, proper nutrition and adequate rest, while also paying attention to their mental and emotional health.
WIMBIZ said the wellness campaign aligns with its broader mission of inspiring, empowering, advocating for and connecting women in management, business and public service.
Founded in 2001, WIMBIZ has grown into one of Nigeria’s leading platforms for women’s leadership development. The organisation says it has built a network of more than 3,700 accomplished women and impacted over 367,000 women through mentoring, leadership development, advocacy and networking programmes.
As part of its 25th anniversary activities, WIMBIZ said it will continue to roll out initiatives focused on leadership, mentorship, gender inclusion and personal development, while reinforcing the message that professional success should go hand in hand with good health and overall well-being.
