World Book of Records inducts Pastor Kumuyi into excellence category

Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has been recognised by the World Book of Records, London, for his outstanding contributions to education, humanitarian service, global outreach and community development.

The recognition was announced by Pastor Kumuyi on Sunday through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, where he shared an inclusion letter from the World Book of Records expressing appreciation for his decades of faith-based leadership and global influence.

According to the letter, signed by the organisation’s Chief Executive Officer, Santosh Shukla, Kumuyi was inducted into the World Book of Records’ Excellence (E1) Category, which honours individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and distinguished service in their respective fields.

The organisation said the recognition was in acknowledgment of Kumuyi’s “outstanding contributions to education, academic excellence, visionary leadership, global outreach initiatives, humanitarian service and community development,” noting that his work has impacted millions of people across continents through faith-based leadership, educational advancement and international social empowerment programmes.

Reacting to the honour, Kumuyi expressed gratitude but said his primary focus remains evangelism.

“I received an Inclusion Letter from the World Book of Records, London. Humbled by this recognition, my focus remains unchanged: winning souls for Christ,” he wrote.

He added that through five years of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), the ministry has reached more than 50 million people worldwide, with over 900,000 individuals making decisions for Christ.

“The E1 category is designated to honour and recognise exceptional achievements, distinguished service or notable contributions in various fields,” the World Book of Records stated, adding that recipients are recognised for setting benchmarks of excellence and inspiring future generations through their leadership and impact.

Kumuyi, who founded the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in 1973, is also the convener of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi, an international evangelical outreach that has expanded to several countries across Africa, Asia, Oceania and North America. He also serves as the founder and Chancellor of Anchor University in Lagos.

The World Book of Records wished the cleric continued success, describing his contributions as exemplary and deserving of global recognition.
