Court sentences prophet, 23-year-old LASU student to death

A prophet Philip Segun and a 23-year-old Lagos State University (LASU) student, Owolabi Adeeko, were on Monday, July 17, 2023, sentenced to death by hanging by a State High Court sitting in Ikire, Osun State, while the Owolabi’s mother, Bola Adeeko was convicted for conspiracy.

According to Leadership Newspaper, Justice Christiana Olokede Obadina delivered the judgment having convicted the trio for the m¥der of another LASU student, Favour Duley Oladele, on December 8, 2019. They were arraigned before the Court on November 15, 2021.

Delivering her judgment, Justice Christiana Obadina said that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and, therefore, found Prophet Philip Segun, Owolabi Adeeko and Bola Adeekoguilty of m¥rd£r and conspiracy.

The convicts, Prophet Philip Segun,42, Owolabi Adeeko, 23, and Bola Adeeko, 46, were arraigned on two counts charge of conspiracy and murd£r.
