The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has seized three tankers involved in sales of Automated Gas Oil along Taslim Elias Close in the Victoria Island of the state.

This was disclosed in a statement posted on the official X handle of LASEPA on Saturday.

According to the statement, the enforcement followed complaints from residents about illegal petroleum sales in the neighbourhood.

It read, “The apprehended trucks were caught at their illegal sales points, posing potential hazards to the community. LASEPA, in collaboration with relevant authorities, promptly intervened to curtail the activities and mitigate any environmental risks associated with such operations.

“The agency therefore encourages residents to report any suspicious or similar illegal activities that may pose environmental risks through its designated channels.

“LASEPA remains steadfast in its mission to uphold environmental standards and protect the citizens from the danger associated with environmental degradation and other infractions.”

Hub 247 News reports that the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, on Thursday, sealed off illegal oil and gas stations in Taraba and Imo States for illegally engaging in the sale of Liquefied Natural Gas.
