Mountain Top Chorale heads to Sweden for 2026 World Choir Games

The Mountain Top Chorale of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) is participating in the 2026 World Choir Games in Helsingborg, Sweden, following its success at the previous edition of the international competition.

The 2026 World Choir Games, regarded as one of the world’s major international choral competitions, is being hosted by Helsingborg, Sweden, in August. The Swedish Choral Association confirmed that the event is taking place in the city this month.

Mountain Top Chorale, which represents MFM and Nigeria at international choral competitions, has established a strong record at the World Choir Games.

At the 2024 edition held in Auckland, New Zealand, the choir won two gold medals in the Champions Competition. It secured gold in the Contemporary Music Mixed Voices category and the Spiritual category.

In the Spiritual category, the choir scored 83.38 points to earn a gold medal, while it recorded 88.13 points in the Contemporary Music Mixed Voices category.

The 2024 competition attracted more than 11,000 singers from over 30 countries, according to reports citing the World Choir Games organisers.

Mountain Top Chorale has also maintained a strong position in the international choral community. The latest INTERKULTUR World Rankings, updated in June 2026, placed the Nigerian choir at number 200 globally, with 948 points.

The choir’s participation in the 2026 World Choir Games therefore represents another opportunity to showcase Nigerian choral music on the international stage.

However, as of publication, there is no reliable official result available confirming that Mountain Top Chorale has already won a gold medal or emerged champion in the Spiritual category at the 2026 competition in Sweden.

The verified gold-medal achievement in the Spiritual category was recorded at the 2024 World Choir Games in Auckland, New Zealand.
