Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has moved into third place on Galatasaray’s all-time list of highest-scoring foreign players after scoring twice in the club’s 4-0 victory over Erzurumspor FK in the Turkish Süper Lig.
Osimhen struck in the 45th and 80th minutes as the reigning Turkish champions secured their first league win of the 2026/27 season at the Kazım Karabekir Stadium on Friday. Roland Sallai and Yunus Akgün scored Galatasaray’s other goals.
The brace took Osimhen’s Galatasaray tally to 63 goals in all competitions, according to Turkish media, moving him past former Brazilian-Croatian forward Milan Baroš, who scored 61 goals for the Istanbul club.
Osimhen had entered the match in fourth place on Galatasaray’s foreign-goalscorers chart, having reached 59 goals before the Erzurumspor encounter. His two-goal performance was enough to lift him into the top three.
The Nigerian is now behind only Mauro Icardi and Galatasaray legend Gheorghe Hagi on the club’s all-time foreign scorers list. Icardi is credited with 77 goals, while Hagi scored 72 during his spell with the club.
Osimhen also played a key role in Galatasaray’s second goal against Erzurumspor, providing the pass from which Yunus Akgün scored in the 20th minute. He then gave the visitors a three-goal cushion just before half-time before completing his brace in the 80th minute.
The victory lifted Galatasaray to four points from their opening two league matches, following a 2-2 draw with Çorum FK in their opening fixture. Erzurumspor, meanwhile, remained without a point after two matches.
Osimhen’s latest performance further underlined his importance to Galatasaray, where he has continued to establish himself among the club’s most prolific foreign forwards since arriving in 2024.
With 63 goals already to his name, the 27-year-old now needs only 10 more goals to equal Icardi’s 77-goal record and 10 to move level with Hagi at 72.
