Comedian Officer Woos denies announcing Broda Shaggi’s death, threatens legal action over false rumours

Nigerian comedian and content creator Officer Woos has dismissed viral reports alleging that he announced the death of fellow entertainer Broda Shaggi, describing the claims as false, malicious, and misleading.

The social media personality, whose real name is Jubril Gbadamosi, reacted after reports and online posts began circulating, suggesting that he had shared information regarding the purported death of Broda Shaggi. The rumours quickly spread across various social media platforms, sparking confusion and concern among fans of the popular comedian.

In a statement issued via his social media channels, Officer Woos categorically denied ever making such an announcement. He clarified that neither Broda Shaggi nor any member of his team had communicated any such information and urged the public to disregard the fabricated reports.

The comedian expressed disappointment over what he described as a deliberate attempt to spread falsehood and tarnish reputations. According to him, the rumours were not only damaging but also capable of causing emotional distress to Broda Shaggi’s family, friends, colleagues, and supporters.

Officer Woos further warned individuals and platforms responsible for originating and disseminating the false claims that they could face legal consequences. He stated that his legal team was already reviewing the matter and considering appropriate action against those involved in spreading the misinformation.

“The report is completely false and malicious. I never announced Broda Shaggi’s death, and anyone pushing such narratives should desist immediately,” he said.

The development comes amid growing concerns about the rapid spread of misinformation on social media, where unverified claims can gain traction within minutes and trigger widespread panic before facts are established.

Broda Shaggi, one of Nigeria’s most prominent comedians and actors, remains active on social media and continues to engage with fans through his content, effectively debunking the rumours surrounding his alleged death.

Fans and industry colleagues have since rallied behind both entertainers, condemning the circulation of fake news and urging content creators and social media users to verify information before sharing it online.

The incident has once again highlighted the challenges posed by digital misinformation and the increasing calls for accountability among those who intentionally spread false reports capable of harming individuals and reputations.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Officer Woos nor Broda Shaggi had indicated that any official complaint had been filed with law enforcement authorities, although the comedian maintained that legal options remain under consideration.
